Recent and favourite shots.

Favourite pick from a spring knock around photo-day in London. Lightroom presets saved the day, by finding the most interesting take on a pic of a pic.

Another from my spring, knock about, loved how it came out with the juxtaposition of the under exposed and overexposed people in the shot.

Liked the lines in this one, and how the subject blends into the background.

My favourite pick from Brighton Pride 2024, reminded me of California Highway Patrol.

Took this picture as part of my City Lit street photography course, loved the shadow and straight lines, but also the crispness of the couple walking.

Trying the technique of finding the stage (frame) and then watching the actors walk in, really liked the simplicity of this one.

A street performer in Lincoln on a quiet weekday taken from the only hill in Lincolnshire next to the cathedral. They seemed to be doing it for pleasure not reward. I liked the contrast of modern music against the historic buildings.

Managed to find an elevated spot in Waterloo station with some interesting light and shadows.

Was wondering along SouthBank London outside the Tate and managed to surreptitiously capture a number of shots from the hip, this one seemed to somehow work.

Liked the old sign and new sign in the background with the group in front.

Managed to hide in a colonnade as a sharp shower struck and got this shot in Winchester on a Saturday afternoon.

The old roman quarter of Girona in Spain, with an inquisitive dog waiting for its owner. Loved how in keeping everything was with a smartly dressed dog amongst the aesthetic of small boutique shops that characterise this part of Girona.

The Thames in London on quite a high tide with the usual mix of traffic for a weekday, showing both the commuter and service boats. The black and white gave it a more industrial feel, which I think goes well with the 'working' boats theme.

This shot was taken chasing after 'elephant man', loved the idea that someone was transporting something so bizzare around London on a bicycle.

A snapshot into an office in London towards the end of the business day on a winters evening, showing the mostly empty space and now occasional use offices. The colour saturation suggests some glamour and allure when in practice the activity and discussion depicted is likely to be very mundane.

Love these reflection shots, especially when you are not sure what the image is and what the reflection is. The word 'police' on the car seems to change its orientation as you read it. This is a shop front in Denmark Street London, a short but famous street known for its guitar shops.

The National Theatre in Southbank London, lit up on the river bank. I enjoyed playing with the colours here to make it appear a much more surreal avant-garde type beacon than the dull concrete building it is in daylight. So not a replica of what I saw but an impression of how I imagined it.

This was taken in what used to be called Waterloo International, but is now platform 21-24. Liked the juxtaposition of the different curves with the straight lines behind and the sky in the background.

The view of the basilica in Girona seen through the railings of the Red Bridge, one of the many crossings on this Florentine like town, and not the usual shot you tend to see which is normally the more expansive open shot of the view down the river.

Walking back from the office in the city to Waterloo on the hunt for an interesting shot, wanted to catch the bustle of home time with the quiet of someone sitting quietly. The pigeons in flight was just luck.

First trip back to Bakewell in the peak district and spotted this street busker. Like the angle with all of the other activity going on.
